Baylis - With the conclusion of SUNY Day Camp, rumors began to spread that the MUGs may be recognized as fourth class as early as November. This comes as a surprise to students, since many are still missing essential uniform items and are unable to recite basic MUG knowledge.
The current Regimental Commander has fallen under fire for her ineffective leadership, and new policies regarding taps and morning formations. Students banded together to proclaim that she is, “not our regcom”, and started a social media campaign to #bringbackfranco.
In an attempt to square away the regiment, the administration listened to the student body for the first time, and hired recent graduate and former Regimental Commander, Gabriella Franco, as the new Commandant of Cadets. When asked for her thoughts on the matter, Mate Franco responded, “Hmmmmm I gotta think about that. I’m not very clever with stuff like that!” During her reign as Regimental Commander, Mate Franco was infamous for not yelling, but simply being Italian, and instilling fear into the hearts of MUGs.
